There’s a lot to love about Canberra and throughout March the city truly comes alive with free events and activities galore.
Here are a few reasons why we think you should plan to visit the Nations Capital this month:
Enlighten Festival
Dates: 1 – 11 March
Witness Canberra’s landmarks brought to life with evenings filled with lights and action.
Take in the brilliance as you have a bite to eat at the Night Noodle Market in the parliamentary triangle and wander through the myriad of sounds and illumination.
Canberra Balloon Spectacular
Dates: 9 – 17 March
Wake up early to see the skies become filled with colourful hot air balloons. Take off is usually within the Parliamentary Triangle from 5am. It may be early but it’s worth it.
Amanda Summons – The Ladies: Part II
Dates: 4 March – 7 April
In 2018, Amanda Summons endeavoured to capture the photos and stories of 52 women – one for each week of the year- who inspire her. After a successful year and exhibition in September she set out to capture more and exceeding her own expectations concluding with 123 photographs and bios later. “I really wanted to highlight that the most important people to look up to are the people in your own life,” shares Amanda.
Amanda will showcase this unique project throughout March and April at the Front Gallery Lyneham with the official opening on Wednesday 6th March 6- 8 pm.
For more information view Amanda’s Website or Instagram.
Hit 104.7 Skyfire
Dates: 16 March
Watch the Canberra skies become alight with illuminated action at the annual firework display. To take in the views without the hustle and bustle we’d recommend packing a picnic and chilling by the Commonwealth bridge.
Shine Om Family Yoga
Dates: Friday 29 March 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm, Page Belconnen.
End the month positively by connecting with your mindful minis at Shine Om‘s monthly Family Yoga. These classes are loads of fun with games, movement and massage intended to connect you deeper with your loved ones.
