We come together …

Over the weekend the Patrick White Lawns, of the Nations Capital, was sprawled with yoga mats, activewear and smiles as Canberra experienced Wanderlust 108 Festival for the second consecutive year. Wanderlust 108 is the world’s first mindful triathlon focusing on connection with self, others and the world around us. True to form Canberra impressed our Wanderlust guests with its spectacular spring weather, welcoming and filling the attendee’s hearts with gratitude before the event had even begun.

The Wanderlust journey began with a 5 km run around Lake Burley Griffin, followed by a groovy 75 minutes of flow yoga with Noelle Connolly accompanied with empowering tunes by DJ R.I.A . The triathlon component concluded with a 30 minute guided meditation by Andy Amos.

The day was energetically MC’d by Franko Heke who radiates positivity, wholeness and openness. Not only did Franko inspire the crowd with his motivational and thought-provoking quotes and questions he also soothed the crowd with his acoustic tunes.

This Festival is the perfect place to release your inner child with ample opportunities for laughter, freedom, fun and a whole lot of hugs and high fives.  The Festival’s bonus activities were filled with grins at every turn as grown women and men reignited their playfulness through hula hooping with SpinJoy, tested their strength with Emma Maidment and Jeff Moscato at Acro Yoga and challenged their coordination and balance with Zoe Zephyr in Aerial Yoga. Be sure to book into Zoe’s aerial classes quickly as they fill up fast and for good reason.

Wanderlust Festival has creatively formed a global tribe sharing compassion, love and light. It is hard for anyone attending the festival to deny the collective energy of togetherness where diverse individuals stand united for; love, inspiration, empathy,  humanity and acceptance for both self and the world around them.

The energy and tranquillity accumulated during Wanderlust 108 will stay with you beyond the festival completion. In 2018, join the tribe and allow your inner child to come and play before leaving the event feeling a whole lot lighter. I know I will be!
