How do I get there?
From my experience and the experience of other travellers I would highly recommend flying with Jet Star or Viet Jet. The prices are super comparable to the o/n bus tickets and saves you so much more time.
From the airport I would recommend utilising the shuttle services of Hoi An express. For 110,000 VND you will be driven to your hotel directly and you can also request a pick up for the same price. The van is clean, comfortable and reliable.
For $12/night I stayed at Paradise Hotel in a dorm style room, where you share with 2 other people. This is a new hotel so it was still under construction but has a pool, wifi, free bicycle hire and free breakfast. The receptionist Linh was absolutely amazing.
Eating: like most places in Vietnam you won’t be short of places to treat yourself and get a delicious meal. You must try the local Lao Cau dishes which are served at most places.
Things to do:
For tailor made clothing I would highly recommend Ha and the crew at Nu Ni. AT the time of writing they could be found at 119 Tran Hung Dao Hoi An Quang Nam. I got 3 pairs of shorts and two fabulous lined dresses made for around $185. I am beyond satisfied with my purchases and would definitely return there. You can read my review here on TripAdvisor
It’s worth hiring a bicycle for the day to check out the wonderful sights of the Ancient city and ridding the 10KM return trip to the beach. It’s approximately 25 minutes out of town but super chilled out. Ignore the dude at the end of the street who whistles at you and demands for you to park your bicycle and pay for 5,000 VND. Learn from dory and just keep swimming.
There are also an abundance of cooking classes you can take which are around 300,000 VND for 4 hours of foods fun including a market shopping experience.
A friend of mine did the Cham Island diving tours too and had an absolute ball. Unfortunately I had a sinus infection so diving was not an option for me during this time.
I would love to hear your latest Travel experiences from Hoi An and updated travel info. Where have you found the best place for tailor made clothing?
