If you’re considering life as a mermaid, then this is the place for you.
Uepi Island is located in the middle of the Marovo Lagoon on the south-east side of New Georgia in the Solomon Islands. It’s an island of raised coral and is covered with lush rainforest. The surrounding reef is outstanding with spectacular marine life, attracting avid divers and snorkelers from all over the globe.
Getting there

The resort is approximately 12km from Seghe airport. To get here fly into Seghe from Honiara with Solomon Airlines. Soon you’ll be able to fly into Seghe from Munda once the new international airport is open for operation. This airport will have direct flights from Brisbane. Watch this space for more information to come.
The Resort
The resort is operated by an Australian family who employs up to 52 local people. All local staff have a basic understanding of English and are all friendly and hospitable.
All meals are included with lunch served as a picnic on your veranda. The food is either organically grown on the island or sourced locally. The meals are delicious and are catered to individual dietary needs.
The villas are self-contained with fans and cold water showers which are great for the endless hot days. The water is collected from the rain and filtered with a UV light enabling you to drink from the tap without health implications. If the rainwater runs out, they have a desalination plant to ensure the water is of quality.
All villas have a decent sized veranda with a hammock to make the most of the island vibes and take in the ocean views.
The thing that makes this resort unique is their contributions back to the lives of the local people. Every six months the family hosts a medical tour where studying medical professionals can travel to Uepi and provide assistance to the locals. The resort also stocks pharmaceuticals and work alongside the Solomon hospitals to give medicines.
