You’ve made the right choice to head to Boracay and the trip is relatively stress free from Kalibo airport.
The airport is small and from my conversations with the locals, although Kalibo is further from Boracay then Caticlan it is renowned as the safest. Reason being the run way is larger enabling smoother landings and take offs.
You’ll exit the airport and there will be mulitple vans tying to gain your attention. From the airport it takes anywhere from 1.5-2 hours via van. You can also catch a bus but they do not have a regular schedule and it costs around 110.
Here is the price breakdown:
- Van and boat combo 250
- Environmental fee 75
- Terminal fee 100
When you leave the Island you don’t have to pay the environmental fee only your boat, van and terminal fee. There are also discounts for groups travelling together.
The vans are air conditioned, crowded and provide no stops so make sure you have water with you.
The boat from Caticlan port to Boracay takes about 10mins. Once you arrive you will be herded into a tricycle waiting area and it should cost you no more then 100 to get to the beach.
